A Note Upon Not(h)ing

Note

I wrote this monologue for a class I took in college called Feminist Playwrights, taught by Alicia Hyland. We'd read plays on a variety of themes, and have the chance to write short plays on each theme. This is the play I wrote for the theme of 'abuse.' It is an exploration both of my personal experience with said violence, and an exploration of form; it is meant to be both read and heard, and different meanings arise depending on if it's received orally or visually. Ultimately, it is a reflection on reflecting on trauma.
